Introduction
Emo Fellowship is the mobilization arm of the society specifically for spiritual nourishment and evangelism of the word of God in order to continue anchoring the community on the solid rock. Emo Fellowship fosters interdenominational and non-denominational interactions with a view of reducing unnecessary religious divisions and conflicts that ultimately retards the Society’s development. The Fellowship organizes regular prayers and preaching meetings at international, national, regional and village levels for this purpose as well as using all forms of media available.
Preaching
This is a command to the followers of Jesus Christ. When he was here on the earth he went round preaching about the kingdom of God. Mathew 4:23 ……..Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing diseases n sicknesses among the people. Jesus came from God’s kingdom in order to announce to men and that repentance being the channel of becoming its citizens.
Mathew 4:17 …….from that time when Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near. “Therefore, we should reach out in line with this pattern and command to all who have not received this message that they should turn God in repentance, finally belong to its kingdom.
Philippians 3:20 …...but our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans said that we should not be ashamed of the gospel because it is God’s power to save everyone.
Romans 1:16 …….. I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, first for the few of them of the gentile. For in the gospel righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from fast to last, just as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.”
This program therefore, provides the platform for the people to experience God’s power and which its ultimate objective is to restore the lost relationship between man and the Almighty God. It is here that we begin to realize his original intended purpose for our given lives.
Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviors, gave a mandate known as the ‘Great commission’ before he ascended to heaven.
Mathew 28:19:20 ………therefore, go and make disciplines of all Nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you and surely I am with you always to the end of the age.
Community Transformation
The call
God is calling us to partner with him in bringing a new face of social, political, economic of our communities. The greatest inspiration is hereby drowned from inherent examples of the bible where God used men and women in their time and age to transform the society through a dynamic relationship with him, they were able to demonstrate godly leadership that shaped peoples destiny. Moreover through them we can emulate their models to fulfill transformation call. The models are as follows: Joseph model, Nehemiah model, David model, Esther and Mordecai model, Daniel model etc.
In Isaiah 32 we discover that the land which people, communities, nations live on have wilderness of some kind. We are faced with social, economic and political wilderness. It is until the Holy Spirit is poured from on high that the wilderness will be turned to be a forest. This is instructive that as we partner with God he will release his Spirit to our social, economic and political wilderness.
Process
Transformation is a process hence as vessels have offered themselves to be used by God ought to understand that the law of process applies here as well. It begins from an individual’s mind. There has to be a paradigm shift in our mindsets i.e. attitude towards God, challenge the status quo and go with the royal mindset of Jesus Christ who gave us dominion, authority and victory.
Romans 12:1-2: We should allow the reading, meditation and internationalizing of God’s word so that our attitude will change. This is beginning of transformation journey.
Tools
Prayer
Genesis1:28: It is a mechanism of asking and receiving from God. We partner with God in prayer to establish his dominion on earth. Prayer brings healing and restoration. In Genesis20, Abraham prayed for king Abimelech and the whole nation.
God brought healing and caused his name to be greatly feared in the nation. It is our desire to see our community healed and the fear of God permeate every facet our lives. We’ve got to instill a lifestyle of prayer that would allow God heal; liberate our people from bonds of poverty, desolations and manner of social evil.
Hard work
Work is a virtue. God showed from the beginning when he worked for six days and rested on the seventh day. It is clear that work is not a curse but that work became hard after Adam sinned. For us to experience transformation we must embrace the spirit of hard work. Proverbs 14:23……….All hard work brings profit but a mere talk leads to poverty.
John 5:17 Jesus said……My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working. Jesus Christ is our ultimate example hence we ought to put lives and our people back to work.
